Doing a little maintenance for this bike and there were a few issues which arose that were unexpected. It turned out that not just was the oil pump failing to deliver oil efficiently but the actual chain had stretch which was beyond the tolerances set out by Yamaha. Very unusual for a bike of this age. So, I went about finding the right parts to fix all the issues. First off was the chain itself. This was relatively easy to find by using the Yamaha schematics section on oil pump. After getting this part number, a simple search on Webike to see if they had stock or needed to order it. Luckily, Webike did have one in stock and ready to ship within 48 hours. The order took just a week to arrive and all the contents were expertly packaged and arrived safe. The chain was in a standard Yamaha packaging and protected b=with bubble wrap. The chain itself is just like any other chain really but a little smaller in size. The links were perfectly lined up, there was no sign of debris or any contaminants. The chain had no little to no side to side movement. Fitting was straight forward enough and took around 2 hours to complete start to finish. Now I am confident that the oil pimp will work as it should with enough oil circulating. Thanks Webike.
