NOJIMA's ZEPHYR1100

2022-09-07_zephyr1100_nojima_1.jpg

The NJ-4, one of the NJ series, is based on the Zephyr 1100. Although it is a heavy bike, the monoshock provides improved traction performance and a wider range of settings, resulting in a comfortable ride that is hard to believe it was a Zephyr 1100. This bike was originally customized by the owner, keeping its original Zephyr style. He replaced the front wheel with a 17-inch wheel, and installed clip-on handles. The rear shock is OHLINS, and the swingarm is a NOJIMA-specific Wheelie's product. Rear shock reservoirs and preload adjusters were placed on the twin shock upper mounts.

First of all, the wheels are Gale Speed Type-GP1SM. Secondly, front fork is by OHLINS with a Wheelie's fork bottom. The brackets are also made by Wheelie. Moreover, the exhaust pipe is Φ38.1mm to Φ42.7mm in diameter, and are center-mounted to ensure a deep bank angle. The exhaust efficiency was also improved and the weight was reduced. In addtion, the engine cover and rearsets are billet parts made by Wheelie, and carbon parts made by Shabondama, a well-known manufacturer of Zephyr custom parts, are used for the cowl. Finally, the fuel tank is made of aluminium by Beater, contributing greatly to weight reduction.

Wheelie's billet parts have been attached to various sections of the bike. For example, the light brackets are giving the headlight area a high quality look. LED blinkers look cool as well.

NOJIMA's original coloring asserts this bike individuality. The tank is made of aluminum by Beater, and the side covers, tail cowl, and front fender are also made of carbon by Shabondama.

Handle

OHLINS front forks are fitted with Wheelie's brackets. The handlebar has been replaced to clip-on bar, and the brake and clutch masters are made by Gale Speed.

The monoshock and swingarm are connected by linkages, resulting in a progressive effect that dramatically improves road-following and traction performance. The range of setting has also been greatly expanded, raising the limits of riding performance.

Intake & Exhaust

The 4-1 full titanium exhaust is designed to secure the bank angle by using a center ASSY. The ASSY is a spiral collector, and the silencer is a collaboration with Wheelie.
